The Lilipad Story

I design and create from my brand new working studio and storefront in a warehouse in downtown Syracuse and am a mother to two fabulously energetic kids, Lili and Simon.

After the birth of my daughter Lili, I rediscovered my love of sewing and designing beautiful handcrafted items. I named my company for my little bundle and had a logo designed of a whimsical girl skipping lily pads. Turns out it was a fantastically accurate portrait of my 5 year old to come!
After tinkering around with designs in children’s boutique ensembles, I landed in the world of women’s accessories born of my own love for a fantastic and functional accessory. The natural progression led to the Lilipad Creations Purse Party, bringing these funky, fantabulous handbags, totes, and accessories out for an evening of fun for all to enjoy in the ease and comfort of a friends home.

3 years ago I was on maternity leave and started this little adventure. Soon after, I left my PhD in molecular biology to create full time and have the freedom to be home with my son. Many bags later I am more fulfulled and amazed at the successes I have enjoyed doing something I love. It is both challenging and so beautiful having my little guy follow me around the studio as I work. My latest stop on the journey is here and Etsy and now I can't get enough!
